FOCUS ADUM

ADUM: what it's for

The ADUM (Accès Doctorat Unique et Mutualisé) is a web information service and communications portal for PhD students and people with PhDs. Your personal space is the unique interface for accessing your whole PhD environment. You yourself activate it and fill it in when you register as a PhD student for the first time. You can supplement and update the information needed for managing your PhD and showcasing your skills whenever you like. The ADUM is a collaborative tool that the Doctoral School and the institution use for managing current PhDs and PhDs that have already been defended. It also serves as an area for managing registration and re-registration procedures, as well as submitting the information needed for your viva. For companies, it's also a talent pool for recruiting new people whose expertise has been certified by institutions.
You can use it to:
  • make regular updates during and after your PhD
  • make use of the services available via the ADUM network: job offers, PhD news, PhD student and PhD holder network, viva timetable, available training courses.
  • have your details included in directories
  • promote your profile and your skills on the web
  • register for training programmes
  • publish your thesis on dedicated websites

Procedure for collecting diplomas

Collection options:
  • Doctors may collect their diplomas from the application and research department on presentation of a form of ID
  • third parties may collect diplomas from the application and research department provided they have a form of ID, a photocopy of the PhD holder's ID and have been granted authority to do so
  • a diploma may be sent anywhere in France or the European Union at the PhD holder's written request, with a photocopy of a form of ID. For this purpose, an A4-format envelope must be provided, together with a stamp (standard letter rate) and a pre-filled in “registered letter and acknowledgement of receipt” slip, together with the destination address.
  • a diploma may be sent to a country outside the European Union at the PhD holder's written request. If this is requested, the diploma will be sent to the French embassy of the country in question (provide us with the embassy's exact address, together with your own address and your telephone number).
For the last two scenarios, the documents should be sent to the doctoral school to which the student has been sent
